Step 1:
Contact Matthew Pohlmann pohlmanm@mcmaster.ca and request a PIN username and password to get access to the printer

Step 2:
Once you get the username and password, please contact satt@mcmaster.ca and book an appointment with us. We will remote into your computer using TeamViewer. For detailed instructions, please follow this link: (TeamViewer Connect Instructions)

Step 3:
Before our appointment, please open your browser and enter this link: (PRINTER DRIVER)

Step 4:
Please open your TeamViewer and send us your username and password 5min prior to the appointment.

Other Location

Step 1:
Please get the ip address of the printer you want to connect.
From the interface of the printer, go to Device -> About; Scroll down, and record the Wired IPv4 Address (xxx.xxx.xx.xxx).

Step 2:
Once you get the printer’s ip address, please contact satt@mcmaster.ca, book an appointment with us, and attach the ip address in the message. We will remote into your computer using TeamViewer. For detailed instructions, please follow this link: (TeamViewer Connect Instructions)

Step 3:

Please open your TeamViewer and send us your username and password 5min prior to the appointment.

Map a Drive

Please ask your manager, make sure you have access to the drive.

To access your new media drive, please follow the steps below.

Copy and paste the website IP in the browser and it should bring a dialog box to login.
Use your mac id as the username and temporary password. The system will prompt to set a new password.
Setup a new password of atleast 10 characters with atleast 1 uppercase, 1 lowercase and 1 number.
After the password is set, follow the steps below.

Map a network drive to get to it from File Explorer in Windows without having to look for it or type its network address each time.

1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu, or press the Windows logo key + E.
2. Select This PC from the left pane. Then, on the Computer tab, select Map network drive.

3. In the Drive list, select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)
4. In the Folder box, type the path (will be provided) To connect every time you log on to your PC, select the Reconnect at sign-in check box and also check the Connect using different credentials box.
5. Select Finish.
6. In the dialog box, type “./yourmacid” and use the password that you set in the steps above.

TeamViewer Connect Instruction

For a virtual help session, we will use TeamViewer to connect to your computer.
Please follow the instructions below and be prepared prior to the session.

You will find your TeamViewer APP either on your desktop, or search by its name in the left bottom search bar:

After opening TeamViewer, you can see the following. Click the icon circled by red, it will copy your ID and Password. Paste it and send it to us (satt@mcmaster.ca) 5 minutes prior to the meeting. The password will expire. Please do not close or touch anything, we will remote into your computer anytime.

After we remote in, you will see the following on the right bottom corner of your screen. Do not close it untill we said everything is done.
The chat box can be found in the red circle. Click that to communicate with us.

Wifi Connection Issue

Mac-Wifi: How to Connect?

Step 1:

Please find the below sit at the bottom right of your screen. Click the icon squared by red

Step 2:
You will see a pop-up window like below. Select the wifi button.

Step 3:
Connect Mac-Wifi. The username is your MacID.

–If you are having the below error message, please go to the next section: Mac-Wifi Error Message Type 1: Can’t Connect to This Network

Mac-Wifi Error Message Type 1: Can't Connect to This Network

If you are getting this error message below:

Please right-click on the wifi you attempt to connect

Click the forget, and reconnect to the wifi.

If the forget button is not showing, please contact satt@mcmaster.ca

Mac-Wifi Error Message Type 2: We can't sign you in with this credential because......

If your error message looks like below, please go to “Mac-Wifi: How to Connect?” and follow each step.

Ethernet Issue Type 1: Internet Not Working

Find a blue cable that looks like this:

Make sure this is plugged in to both your laptop/docking station and the wall.

If it is working, there should be an icon like below, on the right-bottom corner.

If after plugging and replugging, the internet is still not working, please contact satt@mcmaster.ca
